Desemery earns France selection at 47
A breakthrough Nimes run led to a European Indoor Championships call-up.
Source publication date:
Alexandre Desemery earned selection for France at the European Indoor Archery Championships in Plovdiv after reaching the Nimes recurve men’s bronze-medal match at age forty-seven.
His run included victories over Moritz Wieser, Nicholas D’Amour and Brady Ellison. Wei Chun-Heng defeated him 6–4 in the semi-final, and Marcus D’Almeida won their bronze-medal match 7–3, leaving Desemery without a podium finish.
World Archery confirmed that Desemery would be France’s sole recurve men’s representative in Bulgaria, alongside Lisa Barbelin in the national squad. The January development was his team selection, with the later championships still ahead.
