World Archery lifts restrictions at its directly sanctioned events
Russian athletes and teams may compete under national identity subject to eligibility rules.
Source publication date:
World Archery’s Executive Board lifted restrictions on Russian athletes, teams and officials at events sanctioned directly by the federation. The decision followed its 14 August review of the IOC Executive Board’s July recommendations.
The change permitted Russian national identity, flags and anthem at those competitions, including World Cups and World Championships. Entry, eligibility and anti-doping requirements still applied, together with host-country laws, visa restrictions and public-authority instructions.
The announcement did not automatically decide participation in World Archery Europe competitions, which remained under continental authority. World Archery said it would continue implementation discussions and support for Ukraine’s archery community.
