Di Fabio sets youth walking record as Ancona championships begin
Her 12:40.77 performance led the first day of the Italian junior and under-23 meeting.

Serena Di Fabio improved the Italian under-20 indoor 3000m race-walking record to 12:40.77 on the opening day of the national junior and under-23 championships in Ancona. The performance replaced her own previous winter mark of 12:46.60.
Alice Pagliarini won the under-23 women’s 60m in 7.30 and Yassin Bandaogo took the men’s title in 6.65. Junior sprint victories went to Daniele Inzoli in 6.72 and Carlotta Suppini in 7.40, with the women’s result settled by thousandths.
Alessandro Casoni narrowly won the junior 1500m ahead of Valerio Ciaramella after both were timed at 3:57.35. Leonardo Scalon cleared 5.35 for the junior pole-vault title, becoming second on the Italian youth all-time list.
