Diósgyőr eliminate cup holders Paks with six-goal performance
Ferencváros, Honvéd and Kecskemét also progressed in the Hungarian Cup.

Diósgyőr defeated defending champions Paks 6–2 in the MOL Hungarian Cup round of sixteen. The visitors led by three goals after twenty minutes, and although Paks reduced the deficit before halftime, Diósgyőr extended their advantage after the restart.
Second-tier Kecskemét also produced an upset by eliminating top-flight MTK away from home. Soroksár beat DEAC 1–0 with a late goal, while Budapest Honvéd defeated ESMTK 2–0 to end the remaining third-tier clubs' cup runs.
Ferencváros won 4–0 against Csákvár, and Kazincbarcika and Zalaegerszeg also progressed. The results left one quarterfinal place to be decided in ETO's meeting with Videoton on the following day, completing the next stage's field.
