Dione Housheer explains the balance behind her development at Györ
The Dutch right back discussed creativity, assists and the defensive discipline gained during her international club career.
Source publication date:
Dione Housheer described becoming a more complete player in EHF's March interview series. The Dutch right back joined Györ in 2024 after spells in Denmark and had already won her first Champions League title with the Hungarian club.
The 26-year-old explained how shooting, individual breakthroughs and assists combine to make her difficult to defend. She particularly valued creating opportunities for Györ's line players and linked her attacking decisions to preparation followed by instinctive responses during matches.
Housheer also discussed learning to control her energy over a full game and investing more in defence. Leaving the Netherlands at eighteen was a decisive career step, taking her from VOC Amsterdam to Nykøbing Falster before Odense and eventually Györ.
