Dutch comeback completes European women’s semi-final field
The Netherlands progressed despite losing a shootout to Spain on the final group day.

The Netherlands recovered from a 5–1 deficit to draw 13–13 with Spain on the final second-phase group day of the European women’s championships. Spain won the shootout 3–0, but the Dutch point from regulation secured first place and a semi-final berth.
Hungary defeated Israel 22–6 to advance from the same group. The Netherlands finished with seven points, Hungary six and Spain five, leaving the Spanish team outside the medal rounds despite its victory in the closing encounter.
Italy beat France 24–5 and Greece defeated Croatia 23–6 to complete the other group. Greece finished first with nine points and Italy second with six, creating semi-finals between the Netherlands and Italy, and between Greece and Hungary.
