Alexandra Eala recovered from 4–0 down in the deciding set to defeat Aliaksandra Sasnovich 2–6, 6–4, 7–6 in Abu Dhabi. The Filipino saved a match point and won the final three tiebreak points to reach her fifth career tour quarterfinal.
Sasnovich also led 5–2 in the third set and twice served for the match, but Eala repeatedly extended the contest. The victory came despite Eala winning ten fewer total points across the nearly three-hour match.
Ekaterina Alexandrova advanced to face Eala after defeating Dayana Yastremska. Sara Bejlek beat Jelena Ostapenko and Sonay Kartal defeated lucky loser Renata Zarazua, who had replaced defending champion Belinda Bencic following her withdrawal with illness.
