Carina Edlingerová described adapting to the Czech para biathlon team after obtaining citizenship the previous summer. The twenty-seven-year-old former Austrian cross-country champion explained that biathlon presented a different challenge, requiring accurate shooting under race stress alongside the skiing speed she had already developed.

She learned shooting by studying television coverage, copying positions and experimenting independently. Her technique depends on rhythm, sound and repetition, while Alex Patava now works as both guide and coach after difficulty finding suitably fast guides during her time representing Austria.

Edlingerová identified consistent performance as her longer-term target rather than relying on individual victories. She also discussed studying sports journalism and wanting to help tell para athletes’ stories and improve inclusive sports coverage in the future.
