EHF analysis records increased video replay use at Men's EURO
Eighty-three reviews were used in forty-five of the tournament's sixty-five matches.

An EHF analysis found eighty-three video replay instances across forty-five matches at the Men's EURO 2026. Technology provider VOGO supplied the replay system for all sixty-five games, while federation specialists examined accuracy, review timing and patterns of use throughout the championship.
Average review duration increased from eighty-five seconds in 2024 to 102 seconds in 2026. Analysts attributed part of the rise to RefMic, the public explanation of decisions by referees, which accounted for about half the additional time spent per review.
The study identified particularly high scrutiny during the closing ten minutes of games and emphasised that referees retained the final judgement. EHF planned to use replay and public referee announcements again at the Women's EURO, extending the approach into the next major championship.
