Elias and Orfi lead Grasshopper Cup draws in Zurich
Six Swiss players feature in the April Gold event at the city’s main railway station.

Diego Elias and Amina Orfi headed the released Grasshopper Cup draws for 21–26 April in Zurich. The final Gold tournament of the season was to use a glass court in Zurich Hauptbahnhof, with best-of-three matches before the semifinals and best-of-five scoring from that stage.
Karim Gawad was the men’s second seed, with Victor Crouin and Joel Makin seeded third and fourth. Elias returned after finishing runner-up in 2025. The women’s draw placed Satomi Watanabe second behind Orfi, followed by Sivasangari Subramaniam in the third seeded position.
Swiss interest included Dimitri Steinmann, Nicolas Mueller, David Bernet and Yannick Wilhelmi in the men’s field. Cindy Merlo and Ambre Allinckx entered the women’s draw, facing Sana Ibrahim and Mariam Metwally respectively in their opening matches at the international tournament.
