Source publication date:
Yahya Elnawasany defeated Mohamed ElSherbini 6–11, 11–1, 12–10, 11–3 to win the McMillan Goodfellow Classic. The fifty-five-minute final gave the twenty-four-year-old Egyptian his biggest title and first championship since 2021 at the Copper-level tournament in Toronto.
ElSherbini used his court craft to take the opening game, but Elnawasany responded emphatically by conceding only one point in the second. The third was the closest game, with Elnawasany prevailing in extra points to gain a decisive two-game-to-one advantage.
He maintained control through the fourth, combining accurate play with few errors to secure the trophy. His route included a semifinal victory over top seed Greg Lobban, while ElSherbini had beaten Miguel Rodriguez before entering the all-Egyptian final at Toronto Athletic Club.
