Stephan Embacher earned his first individual World Cup victory in the opening men’s ski flying event in Vikersund. The Austrian combined jumps of 232 and 225 metres for 459.1 points, adding a circuit win to his recent Olympic Super Team gold.

Japan’s Tomofumi Naito finished second with 446.8 points after a 240-metre jump, and Norway’s Johann Andre Forfang took third on 443.7. Domen Prevc, who had won both previous ski flying races in Kulm, finished fifth after struggling across the two rounds.

The result put Embacher fifteen points ahead of Prevc in the discipline standings. The twenty-year-old had also become the first man to win three consecutive junior world ski jumping titles earlier in March, extending a series of important career achievements.
