Emily Vogel looked ahead to her hundred and fiftieth Germany appearance in a March EHF interview before the home qualifier against Slovenia. The 27-year-old back court player had debuted internationally in 2016 and was approaching a possible sixth European Championship.

Vogel connected her sporting upbringing with mother Andrea Bölk, a member of Germany's 1993 world championship team. She recalled playing with her mother's gold medal while reflecting on Germany's own silver medal at the 2025 Worlds.

That tournament also brought Vogel an all-star selection. She emphasised the greater value of the team's achievement and said goals and assists were equally satisfying contributions. Coach Markus Gaugisch praised the approaching appearance milestone as Germany sought early qualification for the next EURO.
