England Athletics completed its 2025–26 regional throws training programme after fourteen days across the country. The sessions welcomed 204 athletes and 102 coaches, covering javelin, discus, hammer and shot with a focus on technique, preparation and the development of championship-level performance.

Club and personal coaches joined athletes at the workshops, allowing learning to be carried back into regular training environments. A separate seated-throws development day led by Alison O’Riordan provided a more specialised opportunity during the autumn programme.

Feedback highlighted improved technical understanding, new drills and greater attention to individual needs and age-appropriate preparation. The federation began reviewing delivery for 2026–27 after the winter series concluded, with throws lead Nick Ridgeon thanking the event specialists, athletes and coaches who supported the completed programme.
