England Athletics plans a new coaching platform and qualification pathways
A partnership with e-Coach will consolidate learning, licences and course booking.
Source publication date:
England Athletics reported progress on a coaching-development programme that includes a new learning-management system due in June. A partnership with e-Coach will bring qualifications, licences, safeguarding checks and course bookings into one platform, supported by work to consolidate existing records.
The federation is reviewing its Advanced Coach pilot before a further cohort linked to the 2026–27 talent programme. Participants have welcomed personalised support and peer learning, while the second Coaching Vision publication adds practical seasonal guidance and more content for off-track endurance coaches.
A redesigned qualification framework retains an accessible Coaching Assistant entry point and strengthens the Sessional Coach route. Further qualifications with discipline specialisms are planned from autumn 2027, using phased implementation and including para-athletics pathways as the coaching offer develops.
