England teams meet a demanding Parliament Hill cross-country test
Eleanor Curran won the senior women’s race while other English athletes reached the podium.
Source publication date:
England completed its winter cross-country representative programme at the London International on Parliament Hill. Wet ground and repeated hills made the course demanding, but Eleanor Curran won the senior women’s Home Countries International and Cross Challenge race over eight kilometres in 29:50.
Kate O’Neill finished fourth and Amelia Quirk fifth to support England’s winning senior women’s team. In the men’s race, Richard Slade and James Kingston finished second and third after a prolonged contest behind individual entrant Hugo Milner, who won the overall race.
Ava James and Sophia Chapman led the English junior women, finishing third and fourth overall and earning age-group runner-up places. The report kept the four representative races together, describing strong performances alongside withdrawals and difficulties caused by the heavy conditions at the final winter fixture.
