Source publication date:
England's men's under-19s defeated Portugal 6-0 but still missed qualification for the 2026 UEFA U19 EURO finals. Serbia's victory over Poland secured top spot in Group 2, leaving Will Antwi's team outside the tournament despite consecutive wins to end the round.
Jesse Derry opened the scoring after four minutes and added his second on the hour. Max Dowman struck five minutes after the interval, while goalkeeper Oliver Whatmuff denied Anísio Cabral as Portugal sought a response before half-time.
Ezra Mayers, Shumaira Mheuka and Harry Howell completed the scoring in the closing stages. England produced six goals through five different players and kept a clean sheet, but the group's other result settled the qualification place.
