Eric Favors wins European Throwing Cup bronze
A 19.68-metre shot put secured Ireland’s second senior medal of the weekend.

Eric Favors won bronze in the senior men’s shot put at the European Throwing Cup in Nicosia. His best effort of 19.68 metres came in wet conditions and followed Nicola Tuthill’s hammer silver, giving Ireland two senior medals over the weekend.
Poland’s Konrad Bukowiecki won with 20.43 metres, while Italy’s Nick Ponzio took silver at 19.97. Favors, Ireland’s national record-holder with 20.93 metres, had also won the domestic indoor title earlier in the season with a championship record.
Niamh Fogarty finished fourteenth in the senior women’s discus with 52.70 metres. Conor Cusack reached a javelin personal best of 75.83 for eleventh overall, a performance that consolidated third place on the Irish all-time list.
