ETTU pays tribute to administrator Andre Damman
The Belgian official held major ranking and governance responsibilities across European and world table tennis.

ETTU announced the death of Andre Damman and recognised his long contribution to European and international table tennis. Born in 1931, the Belgian official combined a playing background with decades of work in rankings, competition administration and the sport’s governing structures.
He joined ETTU’s Classification Committee in 1976 and chaired it from 1988 to 1990. He then chaired the European Ranking Committee until 2008 and also served on the Management Committee during a period of growth in the continental organisation.
At world level, Damman chaired the ITTF Ranking Committee and held council responsibilities. His earlier career included European Championship appearances as a player and leadership of Belgium’s team at the 1983 World Championships.
