Dutch and Swedish pairs win EuroBeachVolley and LA28 quotas

Katja Stam and Raïsa Schoon won the women’s EuroBeachVolley title in Stare Jabłonki, defeating Spain’s Sofía Izuzquiza and Tania Moreno Matveeva 21-13, 21-11. It was the Dutch pair’s first European crown.

Sweden’s Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson won the men’s title with a three-set victory over Norway’s Anders Mol and Christian Sørum. The Swedes completed the tournament 6-0 and had earlier defeated Olympic and world champions David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig.

Both winning national Olympic committees secured quota places for the Los Angeles 2028 Games. The European titles therefore carried a confirmed Olympic qualification consequence in addition to the medals.
