European youth draws establish summer groups
Three men’s age-group tournaments required draws during the federation’s Vienna programme.
Source publication date:
The EHF completed draws for the men’s under-twenty European Championship, under-eighteen European Championship and under-eighteen Championship I. The ceremonies took place at the European Handball House in Vienna ahead of a summer programme spanning several host countries.
The two European Championship draws reserved the host nation’s pot until last. That procedure allowed Romania and Serbia to select their preliminary groups in their respective tournaments, while the other participants were assigned through the published draw system.
Three additional Championship events did not require draws because each featured a single six-team preliminary group. The announcement distinguished the competitions that received new pairings from those with an already defined round-robin structure, completing the group arrangements for the summer youth programme.
