Chester welcomed central defender Tom Davies as manager Calum McIntyre reshaped the squad after injuries and loan recalls. The 33-year-old arrived with extensive experience across the English Football League and was identified as a leader capable of strengthening the group.
Davies developed with Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers before progressing through FC United of Manchester. His senior career subsequently included Fleetwood, Accrington, Portsmouth, Coventry, Bristol Rovers, Barrow and Tranmere, alongside several earlier loan spells.
He made more than one hundred appearances for Tranmere between 2021 and 2025. McIntyre highlighted his aerial presence and personality, explaining that changes among Chester's defenders had required additional recruitment and made the player's experience particularly valuable to the squad.
