Fabbri opens season with 22.05 in South Africa
The outdoor mark came at a meeting outside the World Athletics Global Calendar.
Source publication date:
Leonardo Fabbri began his competitive season with a 22.05 shot-put performance at Parow during a South African training stay. FIDAL described the throw as the strongest season-opening result of his career, supported by additional efforts of 21.87 and 21.60.
The federation explained that the performance would not enter official seasonal lists because the WPA League meeting was absent from the World Athletics Global Calendar. Reghardt Swanepoel recorded 18.58 among Fabbri’s opponents at the outdoor competition.
Fabbri planned another appearance in Stellenbosch before returning to Europe for further indoor meetings and the Italian championships. His February programme formed part of preparations for the World Indoor Championships in Torun, where he aimed to add to earlier global medals.
