Falocchi clears 2.30m as Dester breaks Italian heptathlon record
Ancona’s national indoor championships finish with personal bests in the high jump and combined events.

Christian Falocchi won the Italian indoor high jump title in Ancona with a personal best of 2.30m. The clearance improved his previous best by two centimetres and met the qualifying standard for the World Indoor Championships. Gianmarco Tamberi watched from the stands.
Dario Dester raised his own national heptathlon record to 6,121 points, adding 45 to the mark he had set in 2021. His second day included 7.96 in the hurdles, 4.70m in the pole vault and 2:37.69 over 1,000m.
Alberto Nonino finished second with 5,865 points and Andrea Caiani third with 5,580. The concluding session also brought Studentesca Milardi the combined junior and senior indoor club titles for both men and women.
