Faroes name under-19 squad for Dutch qualifiers
Fróði Benjaminsen selected eighteen players.
Source publication date:
Fróði Benjaminsen selected eighteen players for the Faroe Islands men’s under-19 European qualifying group in the Netherlands. The team was scheduled to face North Macedonia, Moldova and the Dutch hosts between 25 and 31 March in its three-match programme.
Benjaminsen identified the Netherlands as favourites but said the Faroese squad believed it could challenge every opponent. The coach set advancement as the ambition while stressing that the team first needed to deliver its strongest possible performances across the group.
The selection included players from Faroese clubs such as HB, B36, KÍ and Víkingur, alongside Dánial Tuy Mørkøre of Denmark’s Vejle. North Macedonia were the first opponents, followed by Moldova before the concluding match against the host nation.
