Faroes select under-16 women for Moldova tournament
Eighteen players will face three national-team opponents.
Source publication date:
Jákup Mortensen selected eighteen players for the Faroe Islands women’s under-16 team at a UEFA development tournament in Moldova. The squad was scheduled to travel on 9 March and complete a programme containing matches against Malta, the host nation and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The fixtures were set for 12, 14 and 17 March respectively. Mortensen worked with assistant Súni Jakobsen to choose the group, drawing players from B36, FC Hoyvík, HB, KÍ, NSÍ, Skála and Víkingur across the Faroese club system.
The announced selection included Ester Vang, Heidi Jacobsen and Vivia Lind Magnusardóttir among the eighteen. The trip gave the youth team a concentrated international programme, with three different opponents providing the competition structure during the planned stay in Moldova through 18 March.
