Faroese under-17 women finish second in Slovenia
Two wins yielded six points in the qualifying group.

The Faroe Islands women’s under-17 team finished second in its European qualifying group in Slovenia. Fannhard Skoradal’s side won two of its three matches, defeating the hosts 4-0 and Azerbaijan 6-1 while losing 6-0 to group winners Belgium.
Sara Benjaminsen scored twice against Slovenia, with Kára Sigurðsson adding another and an own goal completing that result. Sigurðsson then scored four times against Azerbaijan, where Sára Justinussen also struck and another own goal contributed to the Faroese total.
Belgium won the group with nine points and a 21-0 goal difference, ahead of the Faroes on six. Slovenia collected three points and Azerbaijan none. The Faroese team’s next programme was the Baltic Cup in Latvia around the end of June.
