FAW installs a bee colony at its Hensol headquarters
The biodiversity project links environmental work with growth in women's and girls' football.
Source publication date:
The Football Association of Wales introduced a colony of twenty thousand female honeybees at its Hensol headquarters. The project marked the federation reaching twenty thousand registered female members and connected that participation milestone with its wider environmental and inclusion strategy.
The beehive was painted in FAW colours and delivered with Bee1, a company specialising in corporate biodiversity projects. The federation said the colony would support pollination in the surrounding area and help connect staff with nature alongside its practical environmental contribution.
The installation was linked to the Our Wales: For Her strategy, which aims to improve belonging, visibility and opportunities in the women's game. FAW sustainability manager Jason Webber described the colony as one step toward protecting local ecosystems and embedding environmental responsibility within the organisation's operations.
