FIL launches LAIA luge information assistant
The federation’s AI application draws on more than 42,000 race results.
Source publication date:
FIL launched LAIA, an official luge information assistant, before Milano Cortina. The desktop and mobile web application was developed to answer questions for athletes, coaches, officials, journalists and fans using a specialised dataset containing more than 42,000 race results.
The database includes records extending back to 1950 for some formats, supporting queries about medals, athlete careers and historical performance. The system also includes track information, rules, equipment explanations and an interactive steering game featuring Olympic champion Felix Loch.
Former World Cup luger Julian von Schleinitz led the project as FIL’s head of AI, with DokuMe providing design, frontend development and platform integration. The announcement presented the application as a new digital access point for the federation’s sporting information.
