Source publication date:
Quentin Fillon Maillet won Olympic men’s ten-kilometre biathlon sprint in 22:53.1 after hitting all ten targets. Norway’s Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen took silver, 13.7 seconds behind, while Sturla Holm Lægreid earned bronze, 15.9 seconds back.
Fillon Maillet moved ahead before the first prone stage and maintained his advantage through both shooting bouts. The victory gave him a fourth career Olympic gold, recovering from his unsuccessful defence of the individual title earlier in the Games.
Émilien Jacquelin finished fourth, missing bronze by two tenths despite clean shooting. Sebastian Samuelsson also shot clean to take fifth, while Johannes Dale-Skjevdal finished sixth with two penalties, leaving France and Norway represented across the sprint medal positions.
