More than fifty young skiers registered for training in downhill and super-G.
Source publication date:
FIS and the Federation of European Ski and Snowboard Associations announced a speed academy in Sölden for 7–12 April. More than fifty young athletes had registered for a programme focused on downhill and super-G training on a FIS homologated course.
The academy combines time on snow with technical development, tactical instruction and individual coaching feedback. FIS will supply equipment including gates and panels, while supporting ten participants from four developing national ski associations to widen access to the training opportunity.
A parallel alpine speed clinic will train coaches in course preparation, maintenance, adaptation and safety installations. Former world champion and Olympic medallist Alexandra Meissnitzer will join as athlete ambassador, sharing experience with participants during the development programme.
