The FIS Council reviewed Milano Cortina and preparations for the Paralympic Winter Games at its 25 February meeting. The federation reported that eighty-nine national Olympic committees competed in FIS events, ten more than in Beijing, including first appearances by Benin and the United Arab Emirates.

The Council also examined implementation of the individual neutral athlete programme. FIS said it continued applying that framework in able-bodied events following the Court of Arbitration for Sport decision, while Para competitors were handled under International Paralympic Committee recommendations.

The meeting assessed the federation’s Olympic communication campaign and reported substantial digital reach. Preparations then turned to the March Paralympics, where FIS-governed disciplines were expected to account for eighty per cent of the medals awarded.
