FISU marked International Women’s Day with profiles of five women working across university sport. The feature brought together an athlete, a performance coordinator, a basketball player, a coach and an international federation administrator from different continents.

Chinese Taipei hurdler Hsu Le discussed resisting expectations about gender and sporting development. New Zealand triathlete Jordan Townsend, a performance programme coordinator at the University of Auckland, highlighted community support and the value of leading authentically while pursuing demanding athletic goals.

Ukrainian player Veronika Kosmach and American coach Krista Gerlich emphasised confidence and mutual support. South African executive committee member Nomsa Mahlangu called for women to create opportunities through mentoring and collaboration. The feature connected those experiences with FISU’s forthcoming gender equality webinar on 10 March.
