Americas university Games report records completed Lima podiums
The 30 July update separated finished competitions from sports still in progress.
Source publication date:
FISU’s 30 July report on the Lima America Games recorded champions already decided while five sports still awaited medals. The fourth edition featured fifteen sports and eighteen participating countries, with competition continuing until 1 August.
The United States won both basketball titles, while Brazil took both handball golds. Argentina led the rugby sevens podium ahead of Chile and Peru. Peru’s first women’s beach volleyball team won gold, and Brazil’s first men’s team topped its division.
The update remained an interim account: futsal, volleyball, karate, athletics and football were still in progress. Its results therefore describe the status at publication, rather than asserting a final overall medal table.
