FIVB appeal decision leaves Carolina Solberg suspension in place
The independent appeal chair rejected a request to postpone the one-tournament sanction.
Source publication date:
The independent FIVB Appeals Panel Chair dismissed Carolina Solberg Salgado's request to postpone a one-tournament suspension. FIVB confirmed that the original sanction therefore remained scheduled for the Beach Pro Tour Elite competition in João Pessoa, Brazil.
The disciplinary decision concerned a demonstration classified as non-sporting at the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide. Solberg's appeal sought a change to the timing of the suspension under Article 19.3 of the federation's disciplinary regulations.
FIVB's announcement identified a remaining right of appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The published decision concerned the postponement request and the continued application of the existing one-event suspension, with the forthcoming Brazilian tournament still designated as the affected competition.
