The FIVB Board of Administration endorsed a declaration setting out shared rights and responsibilities for volleyball athletes. Developed with the Athletes' Commission, the document establishes a reference framework across the federation's global movement and the jurisdiction of its members.

The declaration contains twelve aspirational rights and ten responsibilities. Its foundations include the IOC athletes' declaration, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other recognised international human rights principles, connecting volleyball's governance framework with wider standards for athlete participation.

Athletes' Commission President Louise Bawden said player consultation had shaped the document. The framework addresses participation without discrimination, fair competition and protection of wellbeing, while also describing athletes' shared responsibilities for the values and integrity of their sport.
