FIVB announced a task force to assist volleyball athletes, coaches, staff and volunteers affected by the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East. The federation said its immediate priority was protecting people based in or visiting the region who were caught in the conflict.

The statement expressed concern about reports that young Iranian volleyball players had been killed and said many members of the wider volleyball community faced displacement. FIVB extended sympathy to affected families while describing the situation as an unfolding humanitarian crisis.

The task force was established to coordinate urgent work with governments, non-governmental organisations and other relevant bodies. FIVB also called for de-escalation and a peaceful resolution, presenting collaboration and dialogue as central to its response and support for the regional sporting community.
