FIVB releases first pilot sustainability reports for VNL events
The reports examine environmental, social and governance data from three 2025 hosts.
Source publication date:
FIVB published its first sustainability event reports for the Volleyball Nations League, covering the 2025 competitions in Ljubljana, Łódź and Ningbo. The pilot collected environmental, social and governance data with local organisers to establish a baseline for future event planning.
In Ningbo, forty per cent of the official shuttle fleet used low-emission technologies, and organisers coordinated 104 charging stations across hotels and venues. More than half of Ljubljana's spectators used walking, cycling, public transport or shared vehicles to reach matches.
Łódź reused tournament branding as bags and invited children from local orphanages. Ningbo recruited 4,000 volunteers during preparations and 230 during competition, while sourcing more than half of event products locally. FIVB planned wider reporting within its forthcoming sustainability strategy.
