FIVB technology commission reviews AI insights and specialist working groups
Peter Sprenger's commission discussed innovation priorities and potential partnerships for volleyball technology.
Source publication date:
The FIVB Game Technology and Innovation Commission reviewed its work on digital development and the technologies that could improve volleyball's reach and experience. Commission president Peter Sprenger opened the meeting, which the federation reported had taken place the previous day.
Members were introduced to the Technology and Innovation team and received insights from the recent IOC conference on artificial intelligence and sport. The discussion linked those broader developments with technology programmes already under way within volleyball.
The commission considered creating specialist working groups for particular areas of innovation. Members also proposed future priorities, possible partnerships and approaches to accelerating the use of technology across the sport. These were discussions about the next stage of development; the report did not announce a completed new system.
