Foley penalty save helps Welling hold St Albans
The teams shared a goalless draw at Park View Road.
Source publication date:
Welling United drew 0–0 with St Albans City after goalkeeper MacKenzie Foley saved an early penalty. Zane Banton took the eighth-minute spot kick following Lekan Majoyegbe's challenge, but Foley dived left to keep the visitors out.
Clear chances remained limited before the interval. Troy Howard had Welling's best opening, while a Jack James finish for St Albans was ruled out for offside. Both teams continued to search for a breakthrough after the restart.
Foley later denied Jasper Mather and Leo Sery, and Mather missed a close-range opportunity in added time. Welling nearly won at the other end when Majoyegbe met a corner, but Sam Donkin stopped his header on the line to preserve the draw.
