Fournier Beaudry and Cizeron win Olympic ice dance
The French pair edged Chock and Bates as Gilles and Poirier earned bronze.

Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron won Olympic ice dance gold in their first season together, scoring 225.82 points. Madison Chock and Evan Bates took silver with 224.39, while Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier earned their first Olympic medal with 217.74 for bronze.
The French team set a personal best of 135.64 in the free dance. Chock and Bates answered with season-best marks in both the free segment and overall, but could not erase the gap after the rhythm dance.
Italy’s Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri moved into fourth, ahead of American debutants Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik. Twenty-three couples representing fifteen national Olympic committees entered the event, with twenty qualifying for the final free dance segment.
