France narrowly defeat Hungary under-18s
An own goal decided the Swiss qualifying encounter.

Source publication date:
France defeated Hungary 1-0 in the second round of their under-18 League A European qualifying group in Switzerland. Máté Gerliczki’s team remained in contention to retain its place in the higher league, with a concluding fixture against Wales still to come.
The French side held more possession early on and hit the post before taking the lead shortly before halftime. A shot deflected off Bence Rab into the Hungarian net, leaving the visitors behind after an otherwise organised defensive opening period.
Hungary pushed its defensive line higher after the break and created opportunities for an equaliser. Gerliczki introduced attacking changes late on but France protected its advantage. The coach said the team’s plan had kept it competitive, despite failing to convert its chances.
