France won the Olympic women’s four-by-six-kilometre biathlon relay in 1:10:22.7, finishing 51.3 seconds ahead of Sweden. Camille Bened, Lou Jeanmonnot, Océane Michelon and Julia Simon combined for France’s first women’s Olympic relay title since 1992.
Bened incurred a standing penalty on the opening leg, leaving the team well behind. Jeanmonnot began her section fifty-five seconds back before strong shooting and skiing brought France back into contention, with Michelon then creating a substantial advantage.
Simon completed two rapid clean shooting stages to protect the lead on the anchor leg. France used one penalty loop and six spare rounds overall, completing a relay gold sweep at the Games after victories in mixed relay and men’s relay.
