Furlani equals long-jump best to win in Metz
Both leading jumpers reached 8.39, with the Italian winning on the second-best mark.

Mattia Furlani won the Metz long jump with 8.39, equalling his personal best and extending his unbeaten start to three meetings. Bozhidar Saraboyukov also reached 8.39, but Furlani prevailed through an 8.38 second-best jump against the Bulgarian’s 8.37.
The Italian produced five valid jumps beyond 8.20 after an opening foul, including three above 8.30. His performance improved the season’s world lead and followed earlier victories in Paris and Ostrava as he prepared to defend his world indoor title.
Ayomide Folorunso also delivered strong Italian results at the meeting, running 51.98 over 400m and 23.16 over 200m. Both performances moved her to second on Italy’s respective indoor all-time lists, while Elisa Molinarolo cleared a seasonal best 4.50 in the pole vault.
