Lucia Garcia entered the FIP Bronze Agrigento tournament with a chance to improve her leading total of 13 CUPRA FIP Tour titles. The world No. 60 was paired with Amanda Lopez after reaching the semifinals of the Silver tournament in Dubai.
Teresa Navarro and Virginia Riera headed the women’s field for the Friday-to-Sunday competition in southern Italy. In the men’s event, Flavio Abbate and Alvaro Montiel arrived following their success in Agadir, where the reunited Italian partnership had won the previous week.
Another victory would bring Abbate level with Marco Cassetta and Jose Luis Gonzalez on 13 circuit titles. The tournament at Karol Sport offered 40 FIP ranking points to its winners.
