Gavi took part in some Barcelona group exercises at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, marking progress in his recovery from a prolonged injury absence. The midfielder had spent several months on the sidelines before joining colleagues for part of Friday’s training.
Barcelona described him as entering the closing stages of his recovery programme. Pedri and Marcus Rashford, who had also been dealing with fitness problems, trained with the group, while reserve-team players Tommy Marques and Emilio joined the session on the Tito Vilanova pitch.
The workout formed part of preparations for the home league match against Levante. One further session was scheduled before the fixture, with coach Hansi Flick due to address the media after Saturday morning’s training at the club’s facilities.
