Georgia’s Minister of Sport Shalva Gogoladze and IJF President Marius Vizer signed the official hosting contract on 16 June at the federation’s Budapest headquarters. The agreement confirmed Georgia as host of the 2029 World Senior Judo Championships.

The competition covers both individual and team events. The decision had previously been announced during the Tbilisi Grand Slam in March 2026; the June signature was a subsequent formal step rather than the first public proposal.

The contract concerns a future championship and is relevant to Georgian sport administration and the international calendar. The source does not establish a completed 2029 event, a medal outcome or a final operational assessment of the host arrangements.
