Golden Gala adds masters 100m races in Rome
National indoor champions and outdoor ranking leaders will qualify for the Olympic Stadium programme.
Source publication date:
The Golden Gala programme in Rome will include men’s and women’s masters 100m races at the Olympic Stadium on 4 June. FIDAL announced selection rules covering the M45, M50 and M55 categories and their corresponding women’s age groups.
Athletes must be registered with FIDAL for 2026. The Italian indoor 60m champion in each eligible category will receive a place, alongside the two leading athletes in that category’s national outdoor 100m ranking as of 17 May.
If a selected athlete declines, the place will pass progressively to the next eligible competitor on the outdoor ranking. The arrangement gives national age-group champions and current outdoor performers a route onto the programme of Italy’s Diamond League meeting.
