Gennadiy Golovkin presented his priorities for World Boxing in a New Year message to its 152 member federations. The programme combines operational reorganisation, stronger athlete representation, competition integrity, technology development and closer relationships with national bodies.

World Boxing plans to consolidate activity at its Lausanne office and publish a strategic roadmap for 2026 to 2032. The roadmap would cover Olympic pathways, financial sustainability, regulatory modernisation and a global online academy for athletes, coaches, officials and sports managers.

Golovkin also placed emphasis on referee and judge education, standardised competition procedures and digital tools, including artificial intelligence. The proposals were framed around transparent governance and athletes’ rights, with attention to physical and mental wellbeing and a continuing dialogue with the federation’s membership.
