Gonzalez helps Castilla secure goalless draw at Pontevedra
Late home goal was ruled out after an offside review.
Source publication date:
Real Madrid Castilla collected a point with a 0-0 draw at Pontevedra in their twenty-third league match. Goalkeeper Fran Gonzalez made important second-half saves as the visitors resisted pressure at Municipal de Pasaron, while both teams created opportunities before the interval.
Castilla went close through Yanez and Valdepenas, but Pontevedra twice struck the post during the first half. The match remained goalless at the break as clear openings became less frequent, leaving the second period to determine whether either side could find a breakthrough.
Gonzalez denied Yelko and stopped Diego Gomez in a one-on-one situation. Rosende appeared to score for Pontevedra in the ninetieth minute, but a video review ruled out the goal for an earlier offside.
